Full Bio

Brad Weeks has been training law enforcement K9 teams since 2009 and currently serves as an active police K9 handler and trainer in a large metropolitan department. Over the past 15+ years, he has conducted multiple patrol and detection K9 schools throughout Northern Virginia and the surrounding region, working with agencies including Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Herndon, Prince William County, Manassas City, Loudoun County, Arlington County, Winchester City, and others.

His responsibilities include training and certifying new patrol, detection, and bloodhound teams, as well as providing ongoing maintenance training to ensure operational readiness. Brad currently deploys both a patrol K9 and a bloodhound, maintaining hands-on experience in real-world tracking, detection, and field operations.

In 2020, Brad founded Kodiak K9 to bring the same structure, clarity, and proven training principles used in law enforcement into family homes. He specializes in balanced training methods that build obedience, impulse control, and confidence in dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Every training program is tailored to the individual dog and its family, with a focus on producing reliable results that hold up in real-world environments.

Brad’s programs emphasize practical training in everyday settings, helping dogs learn to manage distractions and environmental stressors while building a calm, stable mindset. His approach combines clear communication, accountability, and positive reinforcement when appropriate, always prioritizing long-term success for both the dog and the owner.
